GENEVA, NEW YORK — Belhurst Owner and President Kevin W. Reeder is proud to announce the 16th consecutive “Award of Excellence” has been bestowed to Edgar’s restaurant by Wine Spectator magazine for its extensive wine offerings.
The Wine Spectator Restaurant Awards Program receives over thousands of entries every year from the nation’s best restaurants. The awards are given to restaurants that offer a fine wine list, with a sufficient selection of better producers along with a thematic match to the menu in both price and style. The highly acclaimed Edgar’s is located on the first floor of Belhurst offering guests the beauty of wood carvings in the interior of the 1880’s stone castle overlooking Seneca Lake. Edgar’s features a wine list of over 250 select wines from around the world and specializes in wines from the Finger Lakes Wine Country.
The winning wine list has been under the supervision of Kelly Towers, Belhurst dining and lodging manager, for over 8 years. “Our guests have come to rely on Kelly’s carefully chosen wine list as being the best selection of Finger Lakes Wines as well as wines from around the globe,” said Kevin Reeder. “As a dining destination, Edgar’s showcases the regional gems and offers visitors a true Finger Lakes experience.”
Known for its charm, unique architecture, and stunning lake views, the Belhurst properties include Belhurst Castle, originally built in 1885; White Springs Manor, originally built around 1900; and The Vinifera Inn which opened in 2004. The award-winning Belhurst Winery also opened in 2004. The Reeder family acquired the Castle in 1992 with the dream of offering Finger Lakes visitors the unique beauty, luxury and romance of historical legend.
